How to Reach Lachen

Reaching the Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) in Siliguri is the simplest method to begin this journey (West Bengal). Both have excellent connections to important cities all around India, and it acts as a crucial entry point to the northeast.

Winter in Lachen (October To February)

If you like adventure, winter is the best time to visit Lachen. In Lachen, winter officially starts in October and lasts until February. Lachen's wintertime temperatures range from -5 to 15 degrees Celsius. It may be chilly at times, so you should pack thick wool clothing in the winter. A beautiful time to photograph mountains covered with snow is now. Visit the ice Gurudongmar Lake at this period for an exciting adventure; it's around 63 kilometres from Lachen. It also acts as the starting point for the Chopta Valley.

Summer in Lachen (March To June)

Although Lachen experiences summer from March to June, the temperature remains comfortable and fluctuates from 10°C to 28°C. Here, it never gets too hot. Given that you may easily explore the area's locations and attractions, it is an excellent time to go sightseeing. The yearly Yak Race, Thangu, which is packed with excitement and adventure, is another highlight of the summer season in Lachen.

Monsoon in Lachen (July to September)

Although Lachen's monsoon season has its charms, you should avoid travelling there at this time because of the intense rain. It is not recommended to visit Lachen during the monsoon. Traveling may be challenging and troublesome. Additionally, you'll be forced to spend most of your time inside and won't be able to participate in outside activities.
