Goechala Trek

This is Sikkim’s classic trekking region. Spectacular closer up views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and her subordinate peaks including Pandim and Kabru are the major highlight in this trek. From Dzongri (13,543 ft), there are several routes further beyond the trail to Goecha-La (15,079 ft), the highest trekking point in the trekking itineraries of Sikkim. It starts with a 132 km drive from Gangtok to Yuksom. Trek begins from Yuksom.

Tshoka to Dzongri. 9 kms / 8 hrs / Altitude gain: 9,698 ft to 13,077 ft via 11,919 ft

Day 4

Early morning visit to Dzongri top and stay at Dzongri. 2 kms / 3 hrs / Altitude gain: 13,077 ft to 13,543 ft

Day 5

Dzongri to Thansing. 7 kms / 6hrs / Altitude loss: 13,077 ft to 12,802 ft via 12,156 ft

Day 6

Thanshing to Goechala view point one via Samiti lake & return to Thanshing. 15 kms / 10 hrs / Altitude gain: 12,802 ft to 15,079 ft via 14,105 ft

Thanshing to Tshoka. 16 km / 7 hrs / Altitude loss: 12,156 ft to 9,698 ft
